The Promised One CCLI 7059569 music and words
Sheet music and words in pdf format
He came down from above to teach the world of love,
to set the captives free from their sin.
He knew the price He’d pay, the life He’d give away,
for all who chose to believe in Him.
But the people stood there mocking, mocking.
They didn’t recognise Him as God’s Son.
The people stood there mocking, mocking.
They couldn’t see He was the promised one.
He came along to tell the woman at the well
never to be thirsty again.
The girl who would be stoned, she found herself alone,
as the people were unable to condemn.
Upon the Sabbath day, he found the man who lay,
and said to him “pick up your mat, arise.”
The man who had no sight now could see the light,
as he washed away the mud from his eyes.
And so they hung him on a cross
with nails through hands and feet.
The crown of thorns they pressed into his head.
He could have given in, and not paid for our sin,
But He chose to set us free instead.
